Sweet Summertime on Florida’s Space Coast

Warm beach waters, sunrises on the shores, kayaks in the river. Summer is here on Florida’s Space Coast, and the sweet tastes, smells, sounds and activities are all around. Life may look a little different this summer (does your swimsuit match your mask?!) but summer charges on and we are here to share a few fun (and safe) ways you can take a bite out of sweet summertime on Florida’s Space Coast.

EXPLORE THE WILD

Adventure is open. Brevard Zoo is offering timed-entry tickets which must be purchased in advance online with many special activities still open.  Feed a giraffe or paddle past one in a kayak, zip-line over an alligator, or even walk with a kangaroo. Explore your adventure here.

WORLD FAMOUS COCOA BEACH

The beach is a great place to practice social distancing while still enjoying the great outdoors. Bring your mask and make sure to visit world-famous Ron Jon Surf Shop. Ron Jon is safely open and still providing guests with an awesome experience just steps from the beach. Grab some new gear, then head over for a treat at The Florida Key Lime Company and make sure to say hi to their store mascot and pet alligator Grayson.

SWEET TREATS

What is summer without a cold treat? For the kids, there is no going wrong with ice cream and you are sure to find it in each of our area’s four historic downtown districts. As for the adults, check out the many craft cocktails at 28 North Gastropub in Viera. From the Tequila Mockingbird to The Butterfly Effect – you will be keeping cool with their craft concoctions.

DON’T FORGET YOUR SPACE!

Florida’s gateway to space is still launching! Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is open and has implemented safety protocols to ensure a trusted space for the well-being of crew and guests. Witness the journey of space exploration, and maybe even see a launch while in a rocket garden. The sky’s the limit!

Build your perfect staycation on the Space Coast with the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce’s SpaceCoastStaycation.com and don’t forget to check flights out of our very own airport, Orlando Melbourne International (MLB) who officially launched a new safe travel experience in response to COVID-19.
