Space Coast locals are used to looking up for a spectacular show in the sky. In fact in 2021, as many as 53 rocket launches are projected to take off from Florida’s Space Coast, including three manned missions. This spring, along with these awesome rocket launches, the Space Coast will host not one, but two air shows featuring the best of the best – the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Kicking off the spring of air shows is The Cocoa Beach Air Show on April 17 and 18 featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Watch front-row from the shores in private ocean access away from the crowds or take a dip in the water while the F-22 Raptor Demo Team roars above. There is even viewing options from your own boat for the most memorable air show viewing experience. Food, water, soda and beer are available for purchase on the beach, so you never have to deal with any crowds or miss out on the aviation spectacle going on in front of you. Plus, when it’s all said and done, you are in world-famous Cocoa Beach and just a short drive away from Cocoa Village to end the perfect, and adrenaline-pumping, day.
If you still haven’t had your fill of insane air aerobatics and stunts, buckle up for the Great Florida Air Show on May 15th and 16th at the Orlando Melbourne International Airport. Featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, this show is a local favorite featuring not only air extravaganzas but ground displays and activities for all ages. In the heart of Melbourne, it’s a small step away from Historic Downtown Melbourne to put the cherry on top of your day.
