The Space Coast is a county of variety – 72 miles of coastline with every lifestyle option ranging from acres of farmland to downtown dwellings. On the south end of the region is the City of Palm Bay, a land of outdoor adventure and natural beauty with a grand landscape of golfing, fishing, off-road cycling, kayaking, camping, hiking and more. The largest Space Coast city, Palm Bay is sprawling – and growing in some major ways. With each major city on Florida’s Space Coast comes its own distinct character. Palm Bay, being the largest city, holds several distinct characteristics, one being a great choice in housing options. On the south end of the city, you’ll find horses and dirt roads along acreage while in subdivisions, like Bayside Lakes, you’ll discover beautiful subdivisions just minutes to shopping and dining.  

Speaking of dining, there are some local favorites worth mentioning. The Broken Barrel Tavern is famous for its smoked wings and welcoming atmosphere. The Lazy Turtle Riverfront is a new addition to the Palm Bay dining scene, allowing guests to really kick back and be lazy while enjoying stellar river views. Finally, Yellow Dog Café is a long-time Space Coast favorite for those fancy night outs. From escargot to filet mignon and lobster tail, all the classics are ready to be enjoyed.

Palm Bay is a city known for high-tech manufacturing. The Space Coast’s largest high-tech employer, L3Harris, holds major campuses including the company’s 464,000-square-foot, $130 million technology center, which serves as a high-tech nerve complex for some of the company’s latest research and development. Health First, the area’s premier health-care provider, holds one of its major hospitals in Palm Bay. The first Brevard hospital to offer Thoracic Endograph surgery, Palm Bay Hospital also offers a full spectrum of healthcare services, including Cardiopulmonary, Surgery, Rehabilitation, Intensive Care, Emergency, and Endoscopy Services.

Palm Bay is home to some of the best fishing in the world. The marshes of Palm Bay, Three Forks Marsh and Stick Marsh, are located along the St. Johns River, and are one of the top ten trophy bass spots in the state (and a great place to launch an airboat). This is why Bass Pro Shops located their Stick Marsh Outpost here. Turkey Creek Sanctuary is in the heart of Palm Bay providing 1.25 miles of boardwalk where you can enjoy nature the way it was intended and is one of the Space Coast’s major attractions. Palm Bay is the best of the best when it comes to outdoors, but there are more thrills to check out. Andretti Thrill Park is family fun with go-karting, arcade games, VR games, 7D experiences, mini golf and more. The party place of the City is Space Coast Harley Davidson, who holds many premier events including The Palm Bay Fair and concerts.  

ON THE HORIZON

A community in the planning stages is one like no other. Emerald Lakes in Palm Bay will include 3,760 residential units, 2.8 million square feet of commercial and retail space, and 700 hotel rooms and will truly be a destination.
